A WARNING ABOUT SANTA FE CONSTRUCTION IN TRNC

We bought an apartment off plan from

 in North Cyprus in May 2007 in the complex of Turtle Bay Beach at Tatlisu and in terms with the contract made 2 payments of over £19000. In December 2008 after many emails and broken promises by them they informed us that the partially built complex would not be completed and asking us to change to another  more expensive smaller complex or offering a refund of £15000 a loss of over £4000 to us. We opted for the refund and dispite many many emails and more broken promises we have not got a penny. Our lawyer Goktug, Yildirim, Hamilton ( the Hamilton is Terry Hamilton a Scottish solicitor so watch out for him)  has also been of no use dispite being paid £800 up front and refuses to answer any emails. So if you are thinking of buying from this company SANTA FE Construction we strongly recommend you don't. I will make available to any interested party the email exchanges so you can see how plausable they are. Don't be fooled like we were you will lose you money.

 

If you are thinking of buying in TRNC be very careful about using lawyers and the company you are with. Also the Government of TRNC seem to take no responsibility for regulating developers or helping investors.

 

Look for the following names in any company or letters/emails you recieve as I suspect they are going to change the company name. They have a glossy website at present

Just check thay are not connected to your developers and if they are do a lot more research before proceeding.

 

They also sell via estate agents so check the name of the actually developer beofre proceeding.
